Due to the fact that our initial idea is about a 'police action film',i have decided to do a quick post detailing the basic ideas and conventions based around a 'police action film'.
From what i can see from doing my basic research most of these type of film have a duo of cops,that chase down criminals eventually leading to a capture of a particular criminal .
A lot of these type of films have an iconic car used throughout the film,and also a lot of detail is put into costumes and locations,especially in films like 'Starsky and Hutch' as this film was filmed twenty years later than it was set.
